We offer a simple solution for creating full-color heat applied hot peel transfers that can be used on both light and dark garments. With no minimum order required and unlimited color options (including photo-quality), our digital transfers can be applied to any color garment, including cotton, cotton/poly blends, and 100% polyester.

  • DTF

DTF (Direct to Film) printing can be applied to textiles and rigid surfaces.
Textiles Cotton, Polyester, Cotton and polyester blends, Leather, Leatherette, Nylon, Lycra, Silk, Rayon.
Rigid surfaces Metal, Plastic, Wood, Ceramic, Glass, Acrylic, Porcelain.
DTF printing is very popular for printing t-shirts, caps and bags.

  • Considerations

DTF printing works with regular threads like cotton or silk as well as counterfeit materials like polyester or rayon.

DTF printing requires no pre-treatment and can easily change the texture. DTF transfers are meant to be used on flat, smooth surfaces without texture.

If you apply a DTF transfer to a textured surface, the transfer will receive that texture and may feel rough.

Understanding DTF

Introduction to DTF Transfers
Direct to Film (DTF) transfers represent a groundbreaking method in the textile printing industry. This technology involves printing a design onto a special film, which is then transferred onto fabric using heat. The process begins with the design being printed onto a PET film, followed by the application of a powder adhesive. Once the adhesive is applied, the film is heat-pressed onto the fabric, resulting in a high-quality print.

The Advantages of DTF Over DTG and Vinyl
While Direct to Garment (DTG) and vinyl have been popular choices for textile printing, DTF offers several key advantages:

  1. Versatility in Fabric Choice: DTF excels in its ability to adhere to a wide range of fabrics, including cotton, polyester, silk, and blends. This versatility is a significant step up from DTG, which primarily works best on cotton.

  2. Color Vibrancy and Detail:  produce prints with exceptional color vibrancy and detail. Unlike DTG, which can sometimes struggle with color vibrancy on darker fabrics, DTF maintains consistent quality across all colors.

  3. Durability and Feel:  are known for their durability and excellent washability. They withstand multiple wash cycles without fading or cracking, a common issue with vinyl transfers. Additionally, DTF transfers have a softer hand feel compared to the often thicker and plastic-like feel of vinyl.

  4. Cost-Effectiveness and Efficiency: In terms of production, DTF is more cost-effective, especially for smaller batches. It eliminates the need for pre-treatment processes required in DTG, saving time and resources. This aspect makes DTF ideal for custom and on-demand printing.

  5. Eco-Friendliness: DTF printing uses less water and produces less waste compared to DTG, making it a more environmentally friendly option.

The Future of Textile Printing
The introduction of DTF transfers mark a significant evolution in the textile printing industry. Its ability to produce high-quality, durable prints on a variety of fabrics, combined with its cost-effectiveness and eco-friendliness, positions DTF as a superior choice over DTG and vinyl in many scenarios. As technology advances, we can expect DTF to become even more prevalent in the world of textile printing.
